Chapter History

The Zeta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Kappa was founded at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in the fall of 2015, becoming the fifth Panhellenic sorority to be a part of the Greek community at UAB. Since then, our chapter has thrived and continued to grow! Each year, we work very hard to raise money for our philanthropies through events such as Battle of the Bands, a lip-syncing competition that all fraternities and sororities on campus are welcome to participate in, or Skatterball, a dodgeball competition! In 2017, we came together to raise over $10,000 for the Walk to End Alzheimer's! Philanthropy and service are very important to us, and they help bring us together as a sisterhood.

While Zeta Sigma has only been at UAB for three years, we have given the women of UAB a place to come together and empower one another. We cherish our bond of sisterhood, and we are grateful for the impact we have not only on one another, but the community as well. As we continue to grow as a chapter, Zeta Sigma will forever bring the opportunity to make a difference and the bond of sisterhood to the women of UAB.
